Tregorrick Park YFC - St Austell

Tregorrick Park Eagles produced a good team performance to beat Biscovey at the weekend. Tregorrick pushed forward from the start, but were denied on each occasion by a strong performance from the Biscovey goalkeeper, however the pressure eventually told and after Marks shot was well saved, Gus put away the rebound for the first goal.

The second goal came from a shot by Kieran, which eluded the Biscovey Keeper and was knocked in by Caleb. In the second half Caleb completed his hat-trick with two cool finishes past the Biscovery Keeper who had again been producing some fine saves.

Daniel and Brandon scored the other Tregorrick goals, the pick of which being Daniels sweet struck shot from outside of the area which floated above over the Biscovey Keeper into the top corner. Daniels goal follwed his own strong after which he struck a low shot into the net.

The strong all round team performance was helped by contributions from Ryan, James, Bradley and Billy.

Final score; Biscovey 0 - Tregorrick Park Eagles 6.

Tregorrick Park Eagles ended the year with a solid performance away against Wadebridge on Sunday 16th December.

Both teams started well on this very cold morning and they soon warmed up as the action got going. Wadebridge put the pressure on the Eagles and the defence did well standing firm. The Eagles soon settled and with several chances for both teams the first half ended a very respectable 0-0.

The second half started with Wadebridge attacking the Eagles goal which lead to them going 1-0 up. The Eagles responded and battled hard working the ball well leading to Caleb scoring a well-deserved equaliser. Game on! The game continued with great end to end football - nerve racking for us spectators. Then things went the Eagles way with a free kick being awarded just outside the Wadebridge penalty area. Caleb struck the ball beautifully and the Eagles were 2-1 up. Wadebridge put the pressure on, attacking the Eagles goal trying hard to equalise. The Eagles defence stood firm and Wadebridge were unable to convert any of their chances. Then it was the Eagles turn to push forward once more.They pressurised the Wadebridge goal and a hand ball lead to a penalty for the Eagles. Caleb stepped up and struck the ball well giving the Eagles their third goal and Caleb his hat trick. Well done Eagles.

Sunday 11th November

Tregorrick Eagles started brightly putting pressure on the Biscovey goal from the start. They took a well deserved lead scoring after 5 minutes from a corner with Caleb putting the ball in the net.

The Eagles came close to scoring several more times either putting the ball wide or watching the Biscovey keeper (who had a great game) pull off some good saves.

The pressure eventually told with the Eagles netting twice more in the first half through Caleb and Brandon.

The team continued to play well in the second half and were unlucky not to add to the score.

Coach Brett Wilson said the boys put in a great performance today and I am very proud of them.
