Tregorrick Titans, Shoe Boy Trophy

Tregorrick Titans (U9s) travelled to St Tudy to play in the The Shoe Boy Trophy, comprising of 6 teams, one of them being the old enemy the Tregorrick Celts. It was inevitable that the Celts would be our first fixture, this was talked about like a Man Utd - Liverpool or a Spurs - Arsenal game. Anyway the teams kicked off and there was little to choose from in the first half, which finished 0-0, As time went on and the game stayed level Celts manager Graham Frise looked a tad worried but much to his relief Cally Rundle popped up with two goals to give the Celts a 2-0 win (which means extra laps for Cally at training on Thursday). The game was played in great spirit and both teams thoroughly enjoyed it.

Next up for the Titans was a much fancied Wadebridge team, shots were a premium with Jordan Cooper coming close on one occasion but the defence of Jacob Summerwill and Matt Retallick and Goalkeeper Ollie Burt stood strong and the game finished 0 - 0.

The next game against Probus, who, eventually won the Trophy was another tight affair with the scores tied at half time 0 - 0, it was an unfortunate own goal which sealed a 1- 0 victory for Probus.

Charlestown HIQ was the next fixture and the team had to dig deep in the first half with Katie Glendenen and Jack Williams going close but again the half ended 0 - 0, the second half was a different story with the Titans dominating the half with Joe Rabjohns going close for the Titans, but it was Jack Williams who collected the ball on the wing and ran towards the goal taking on 2 players before slotting his shot under the keeper to mark a wonderful individual goal (If he had missed he also would have had to run extra laps at training)!!!! This was enough for the Titans to win 1 - 0 which they thoroughly deserved.

Our final game was against Camelford which again finished 0 - 0 at half time, but with both teams not really bothering each others goalkeepers the second half was over with no score.

Unfortunately we did not make it to the final but the team played exceptionally well considering that three of the teams play in a higher league and we did not look out of place, I would like to thank Ollie Burt, Matt Retallick, Brandon Pomeroy, Jacob Summerwill, Jacob Westaway, Joe Rabjohns, Katie Glendenen, Jordan Cooper and Jack Williams for taking part and making it an enjoyable morning.

Many Thanks
Lea Cooper (Titans Manager)
